Photoshop or Paintshop?

I have been working on making digital paintings, and CS3 seems to be fine for that. I was just wondering, is Paintshop Pro better for digital painting or is Photoshop?

Photoshop, hands down. If you already have it, stick with it.

Those who have not used Photoshop would probably be happy with PaintShopPro, though. It's a decent program as well.

Photoshop.
Since they are many different approaches to creating digital paintings, I would say photoshop accounts for most if not all, whereas paintshop although similar doesnt quite do it. Besides Photoshop is the industry standard, so if you are looking into collaborative work then photoshop is the way to go. So no paintshop isn't better. But the best way to make sure is to look into tutorials and forums and see which product tends to account for the way you like to work.

Photoshop is great for business signs, flyers, cards, etc and Paintshop is fine for digital art, but AutoCad is BEST! Best of luck to you.

Photoshop is better because there are so many options and ways to tweak ur painting. You can add texture, color, and other useful tools to help
Photoshop has many more features and is the industry standard. It is more expensive but may be worth it from a feature and commonality perspective
